How our guides are made
Topics
We write about questions people actually search for, like the calories in common foods or what to eat with fatty liver, and only when we can answer from reliable sources.
Sources
Numbers come from official and primary sources: USDA FoodData Central for food composition, restaurants' own nutrition pages for menu items, and government and medical bodies such as the NIH, NHS, CDC, AASLD and EASL for health guidance. Every source is listed at the end of the article. When a dish has no official entry, we show our estimate and how we calculated it.
Checking
Each article goes through a separate check before it is published: every number is compared with its source, every link is opened, and anything we cannot confirm is removed. We use AI tools to help research and draft, and every article is checked against its sources by this process before it goes live.
Not medical advice
Our guides are general information. They do not diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to your doctor before changing your diet, especially if you have a health condition, take medication or are pregnant.
Our apps
Daily Apps Lab makes MacroScout and Liverleaf. We mention them where they help with the topic, and we say clearly that they are ours.
Updates and corrections
We review articles when sources change and show the date of the last update at the top of each page. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through dailyappslab.com and we will fix it.
